A 2 week interrail itinerary for Eastern Europe

Way back at the beginning of August last year I was seriously craving getting away, having just finished university and starting my temp job (who by the way were super nice to let me have 2 weeks off after only being there for 2 weeks!) and luckily I had another friend with a plan. This was my first trip where I wasn't in complete control which I've got to say was quite difficult for the control freak within me. I've also got to admit I had no interest with going/no clue these places existed. As I'm never one to turn down a holiday I took the risk and although not as relaxing as I wanted it was still so much fun and so cool to explore some new places.
I'm calling this an inter-rail trip but we actually ended up getting more buses than trains due to the access round the countries we went to so we didn't buy a pass like the one I got for Western Europe.

Flashback Friday: Hamburg & Amsterdam 2013

We only spent an evening in Hamburg hence the lack of doing hardly anything except for eating a hamburger (hehe). We then spent an entire day on various trains on route to Amsterdam and had to navigate ourselves to our campsite! Amsterdam was a final destination :(

Next up on our travels was Prague followed by Berlin. I absolutely loved both cities - Berlin is somewhere I'd love to go back to as I feel like we only scratched the surface, there is so much to see and do!

Flashback Friday: Budapest & Krakow 2013

If you've read this post, you'll know I went interrailing a couple of years ago with a group of school friends. I didn't have a blog at the time, a fact I really regret, so I wanted to put together the photos as a little memento to look back on.

Travel: A guide to Interrailing

Around this time nearly 2 years ago (on my 18th Birthday in fact!) myself and 2 of my friends set off to Budapest to meet 2 of our other friends who had just spent 1 week travelling round Italy. Little did I know that what was to come were some of the best memories I have. Our trip consisted of Budapest, Prague, Krakow, Berlin, Hamburg and Amsterdam all in the space of 2 weeks. I absolutely loved it. I would also love to go again so here's some tips on how to plan.

Travel: A Trip to Dublin Part 2

As promised here is what we got up to on the rest of our trip in Dublin. Even though we all hate beer, we thought we couldn't go to Dublin without trying Ireland's black liquid gold and where better than Guinness Storehouse. We practically followed a lorry transporting the good stuff all the way to the factory.

Travel: A Trip to Dublin Part 1

There was a time a couple of months ago where we were all feeling a bit down with all the work we had to do so we booked a holiday to Dublin for mid-February - forgetting that not only was this Valentine's Day (that's fine, we're all single) but also the Rugby Union. Cue, a very busy Dublin with couples and the French!
This aside, it was a really lovely trip and a welcome relief after all our exams and other goings-on.

After arriving very late on Thursday, we went straight to bed to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed for a day of sightseeing. We stayed at Generator Hostel, a chain I've previously stayed at in Berlin and Hamburg. It was situated near the Jameson Distillery and although not right in the centre it was easy to walk everywhere and meant we were closer to the Guinness Brewery and the Zoo but I'll get to that in the next post!
